Xerox is seeking a technical communication professional to work remotely for it’s Long Beach, CA office. The perfect candidate will have the skills and experience needed to analyze technical information and specifications in order to create documentation. The candidate must demonstrate an advanced command of written and verbal English, with proven ability to organize and execute projects on time and on budget.

Key Responsibilities: Writes content for the creation of electronic and/or printed documentation. Interprets technical specification documents to create the framework for a deliverable then works with Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) to update the documentation as required. Collaborates with a variety of cross-functional teams and individuals. Analyzes and leverages existing technical documentation. Proactively anticipates potential problems and takes corrective action. Capable of working independently, taking direction from a project lead, or providing direction to other writers. Works proactively with product development team to ensure completeness and accuracy of documentation content. Delivers documentation per project plan.

Project Responsibilities: Responsible for self-managing workloads and tracking assignments through the delivery process including research, development, reviews, approvals, and release. Work with the team to manage priorities and expectations. Interact with development personnel as assigned. Adhere to the scheduling, planning and tracking of development activities to ensure agreed Quality, Cost& Delivery (QCD) targets are met. Report on workflow and opportunities for cost reduction, productivities and quality improvements.

Team Working Responsibilities: Demonstrates the ability to simultaneously handle a variety of tasks/problems. Collaborates with technical writers, editors, project managers, various cross-functional teams, and subjectmatter experts, other internal and external clients. Works with team to share and reuse content whenever possible. Fosters collaborative teamwork.

Qualifications: Minimum 7 years current technical writer experience; should have current, consecutive, and active experience between the years of 2007 (or before) and 2015, as well as experience in process, procedure technical writing in the healthcare and/or business sectors. writing experience

Technical Requirements: Proficiency with the following programs:

  • Robohelp 9 or above (within the past 3 years)
  • Microsoft Office
  • Adobe FrameMaker
