Who says you can’t get anything free these days? There’s always a catch. That’s true. But some offers are better than others. For instance, we’re looking for six volunteers to to be room monitors ar Documentation and Training East 2007 Conference in Lowell, MA (greater Boston) this October 16-20, 2007. In exchange for filling the role of room monitor for two days (October 18-19), volunteers will receive full access passes (a $999 value) to the DocTrain East event—including access to our free, pre- and post-conference workshops and our Management Summit.

To be considered, send us an email expressing your interest. To qualify, you must be able to commit to attending the event and be able to pay for your own travel and accommodation expenses. We’ll feed you breakfast and lunch and help you get the most out of the event by introducing you to folks you might want to meet and generally, being really good hosts.

Room monitoring duties are quite simple. You control who gets into the room you monitor (name badges make this clear), ensure the presenter has everything he/she needs, report audio visual or room temperature issues to appropriate hotel staff, and close and open the doors of the session hall.

Interested? Let us know. (first come, first serve; prefer Boston-area volunteers, but are willing to consider others)
